Scuttle's Scooters Ride Vehicle Toys Make a Splash at Tokyo DisneySea

Jul 19, 2023

Scuttle’s Scooters, a popular family ride at Tokyo DisneySea, can now be enjoyed a little bit closer to home with a set of toys based on the attraction’s sand crab ride vehicles.

We spotted the new toys in the Mermaid Lagoon section of the park, a mostly-enclosed space themed to “The Little Mermaid.” This indoor section is referred to as Triton’s Kingdom.

Mermaid Treasures is a shop inside the Kingdom, emphasizing toys and plush.

Scuttle’s Scooters were spotted on this shelf, among other Tokyo Disney Resort vehicles, Baymax, Woody, and Lightning McQueen.

Here they are: yes, two scooters are included, attached to each other like train cars, with wheels. One is predominantly yellow while the other is orange.

The box categorizes this toy as part of the Disney Vehicle Collection, and illustrates the fact that each “scooter” rotates.

Back outside, here are our sand crab friends detached from each other.

Reconnected, the details are quite noteworthy, with both vehicles even having a lap bar for any guests who might be a couple of centimeters in height.

Scuttle’s Scooters (pictured behind) is an opening day attraction at Tokyo DisneySea, and one of the few Mermaid Lagoon experiences to be had outside. Each “scooter” seats two guests, and takes guest on a wobbly up-and-down circular spin around Scuttle, perched on a rock. Scuttle gazes at riders through his trusty telescope to make sure everyone is having a good time.

It’s similar in function to Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin (not to be confused with Slinky Dog Dash) at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris, which itself has additional versions in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Have you ever been on any version of this attraction? What do you think of these new toys? Let us know in the comments.
